Meet Tyron Harris

Tyron Harris is proud to call East Hartford home. A lifelong resident, he understands the strengths, challenges, and opportunities facing our diverse community because he has lived them alongside the people he serves.
Tyron’s commitment to public service is grounded in a simple belief: strong communities are built when people work together and lift one another up.
For more than a decade, Tyron has served East Hartford as a dedicated local leader. As Chair of the East Hartford Board of Education, he has worked to strengthen public education, support teachers, and ensure students have the resources they need to succeed, including innovative programs like AI integration to prepare them for tomorrow's jobs.
In his role as Town Human Resources Director, Tyron helps support the employees who keep East Hartford running every day. His leadership focuses on fairness, professionalism, and building strong teams that serve residents effectively.
Tyron has also worked directly with residents through initiatives such as H.O.P.E. (Helping Ourselves Prepare for Employment) Workshops and From Prison to a Paycheck & Beyond, helping individuals rebuild their lives through criminal justice reentry programs and access opportunities for growth, stability, and self-sufficiency.
His leadership has been recognized across the region, including his selection as one of the Hartford Business Journal’s “40 Under 40,” which honors rising leaders making a difference in Greater Hartford.
But for Tyron, public service is not about recognition; it’s about results.
Now, Tyron is running for State Representative for the 10th Assembly District to bring East Hartford’s voice to the State Capitol and fight for policies that strengthen families, expand opportunities, and move our community forward.
He has been active in the Greater Hartford Young Democrats, the Young Elected Officials Network, Elected Officials to Protect America, the East Hartford Lions Club, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., Beta Sigma Lambda Chapter, and is a founding member of the East Hartford Black Caucus.
Tyron believes the best solutions come from listening, collaboration, and putting people first.
